Luau Party

July 18 th , 2008

Summer is always a great time to host a Luau Party. So close your eyes and let your imagination take over. Pretend you're at a tropical beach somewhere surrounded by crystal clear blue water, a light refreshing island breeze blowing as you sip on a cool tropical drink and sampling delicious Polynesian food. Now open your eyes and SNAP OUT OF IT! We might not be able to bring all of that inside the studio, but we can decorate it up and then let our imaginations do the rest. To help bring more festive foods to the feast, we ask that everyone bring a dish (and it doesn't have to be anything exactly Polynesian), but if your culinary skills allows for that – then please be our guest. Otherwise whatever you bring will be greatly appreciate and we'll sure – absolutely delicious. Along with the great music we'll have to dance to, we have prizes for the best dressed male and female as well as couple. Get in practice for our traditional Limbo and Hula contest and above all - don't miss it!

Beginner's Class

Monday Evenings

7-8 pm

This class is designed for the beginner just starting out and new to the world of dance. The hour is split in half with the first half designated to one dance, while the last half hour is dedicated towards the other. This way the instructor can rotate all the popular dances much faster, giving you a chance to sample them all and find out which ones you enjoy the most. Look to our monthly calendar for the dances that are listed. We usually recommend that a new student stay through at least two rotation cycles to establish a nice foundation in their dancing. The cost is $10 a person or $15 a couple.

Intermediate Class

Wednesday Evening

7-8 pm

After you learn the basics from the Beginner's Class, then you might find yourself ready take on more challenges in your dancing. If you do then the Intermediate Class is the next most logical step to take. This class is designed to branch out and add to your repertoire of dance patterns. Also it will help you to inter-relate dances together thus being able to understand them much better. Then add some good solid technique, a bit of general styling and a whole lot of fun and you have a “perfect” class. Everyone wants to look good on the dance floor - don't they? We're convinced that the tips and information you'll receive from this class will have others commenting on how much better a dancer you are becoming. It will enhance and polish your present level of dancing, thus helping to make you a more accomplished dancer and one that everyone enjoys dancing with.

Also in this class you'll find the Bolero, Viennese Waltz, Country Two Step, Argentine Tango, Night Club Two Step, Quickstep, and several others. You've seen these dances at the parties, and how much fun they appear to be. So don't feel or be left out and when they come around again. You will be able to now dance them too.

The cost is $10 a person per class or $15 a couple.

Beginner's Class

Thursday Evening

7-8 pm

Just like the Monday evening Beginner's Class, this class is split into two one half hour sessions. Again it's designed to help give the instructor's a chance to demonstrate and show you all the most popular dances everyone is doing. Check the monthly calendar for the dance schedule. The instructors also give you tips on how to develop more of the character of the dance so you're soon be out on the floor having fun with the rest of the them.

The cost is $10 a person per class or $15 a couple.

“Fun” Class

Friday Evening

7-8 pm

This is probably one of most popular classes due to two facts. It's a great way for beginners to start out and a wonderful way to meet other fellow dancers right before we begin our Friday Night Dance Party. The class is split into 2 half hour classes just like Monday and Thursday and the level is beginner through intermediate. What a great and fun way to learn something new and meet new friends.

The class is included in the admission to the dance party.

Friday Night Dance Party

8-10 pm

Ever wanted to go out dancing but didn't know where? There are lots of things to consider. Postage stamp size dance floor, smoky atmosphere, music too loud, trouble finding parking spaces, etc… And then the music selection!!! Can anybody actually dance that THAT? Well we have the perfect solution. Attend our Friday Night Dance and have all the room you need to become the Fred and Ginger you want to be. No smoking is allowed inside the ballroom. Lots of parking and it's a safe environment for everyone, including singles. The DJ plays a wide variety of music to dance to and refreshments are served throughout the evening. And best of all --- you'll meet some of the friendliest people in town. Come join us in all the fun and dance the night away this Friday.

Open to the public.

Cost is $15 a person for Class and Party

$20 a couple for Class and Party
