“5678 PARTY”
May 13, 2011 If you are wondering what the “5678” stands for on Friday the 13 th , it means we are having a party around the years of 1950, 1960, 1970 and of course the BIG 80's. This party is always so much fun. You choose which decade you want to dress up in fabulous clothes or at least we thought we looked fabulous. We will dance to music from each decade. If you would like to help out with food that night please let your teacher or Debbie know what you will be bringing. Below are some suggestions for costumes to get your creative juices flowing.
50's Bowling shirts, poodle skirts, saddle shoes, leather jackets, capri pants, pony tails and slicked back hair.
60's Anything tie-dyed, head bands, hippie glasses, peace sign jewelry, flower prints, bellbottoms and afros.
70's Platform shoes, halter/tube tops (warning wear at own risk), floppy hats, big sunglasses, polyester disco clothes of all kinds, leisure suits, wrap around skirts and anything with a smiley face on it.
80's Anything with big shoulder pads, skinny ties and shiney colored clothes. If you are daring put a little color in your hair and spike it up. Jump suits, colored stockings and lace in your hair. Remember Madonna.
I am sure you will come up with a lot that I forgot to mention. Let your memory or imagination go wild.
Ever wanted to go out dancing but didn't know where? There are lots of things to consider. Postage stamp size dance floor, smoky atmosphere, music too loud, trouble finding parking spaces, etc… And then the music selection!!! Can anybody actually dance that THAT? Well we have the perfect solution. Attend our Friday Night Dance and have all the room you need to become the Fred and Ginger you want to be. No smoking is allowed inside the ballroom. Lots of parking and it's a safe environment for everyone, including singles. The DJ plays a wide variety of music to dance to and refreshments are served throughout the evening. And best of all --- you'll meet some of the friendliest people in town. Come join us in all the fun and dance the night away this Friday. Open to the public.
